Administration

The County Administrator’s Office provides executive leadership and operational oversight for Branch County government. In 2025, the County added a Deputy County Administrator/Finance Director position to strengthen fiscal management, human resources, and strategic planning efforts.

The Administrator’s Office is responsible for administering the County’s property and liability insurance programs, employee benefits, and core Human Resources functions. This includes overseeing recruitment and onboarding, policy development, labor relations, personnel administration, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

The County Administrator also supervises the work of the Payroll and Accounts Payable Department, County Complex Manager, Administrator’s Office staff, Equalization/Land Resources Department, and Building Inspection Department.

In partnership with the Finance Director, the Administrator’s Office prepares the annual General Fund and Special Fund budgets, monitors expenditures, and provides regular financial reports to ensure transparency and accountability.

The office also supports the County’s technology infrastructure through oversight of Computer Information Systems, ensuring operational efficiency and continued improvement.

Additionally, the Administrator’s Office works closely with the Board of Commissioners to coordinate county-wide business. This includes facilitating standing committee meetings, full Board meetings, and preparing budget detail reports essential for informed decision-making and responsible governance.
